Port security — ISPS compliant, unified and always-on.
Ports fall under the ISPS Code and require an approved PFSP. MVH Security has in-house PFSO expertise and supports you with all legal obligations — from Alfapass, Portpass and NineID integration to automatic Security Level switching.
The demands your environment places on security
PFSP Compliance & ISPS Security Levels
The Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) defines who may enter the ISPS zone, under what conditions and with what registration obligations. At Security Level 2 or 3, access procedures must be automatically tightened, logged and reported to the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO).
Registration of everyone on the ISPS site
The ISPS Code requires full registration of everyone entering the Restricted Area: name, identity document, employer, vessel, time and reason of access. Dock workers, seafarers, pilots, suppliers and visitors — each with different authorisation levels within the same delimited perimeter.
Perimeter Security & Restricted Area
The ISPS Code mandates a clearly demarcated Restricted Area (RA) with Access Control Points (ACPs), surveillance, lighting and alarm systems. Physical and electronic security of the quayside, shipping area and access roads must together form one contiguous security zone preventing unauthorised access to vessels.
Integration with Alfapass, Portpass, NineID & AIGIS
Port security requires real-time linkage with Alfapass, Portpass and NineID (port identification), AIGIS (port ban database), TOS systems and maritime notifications. Access control that does not communicate with these national platforms fails ISPS audit requirements.
Our solutions for your sector
PFSO-support access management
Our access system is designed around the PFSO workflow. Every person entering the ISPS zone is registered with ID scan, employer verification and vessel link. The system automatically generates the legally required PFSP logbooks, exportable for port authority inspections.
Automatic Security Level switching
When the PFSO activates Security Level 2 or 3, the system switches immediately: access restricted, additional camera patrol areas activated, security team alerted. Every level change is logged with timestamp, reason and name of the activating PFSO — fully auditable under ISPS requirements.
Perimeter detection & ISPS fence-line monitoring
Fibre-optic perimeter detection, motion triggers and thermal cameras along the ISPS fence line. Every intrusion attempt along the quayside or shipping area immediately generates an alarm with video verification in the control centre — even in poor visibility or at night.
Alfapass / Portpass / NineID validation & port ban enforcement
All ISPS zone entries are validated via Alfapass, Portpass or NineID — or via Seafarer ID for maritime crew. Port bans from the AIGIS database are automatically blocked at the gate. The entry register is exportable in PFSP-compliant format for audits by the port authority.
ANPR & Access Control Points (ACP)
Every ISPS Access Control Point is equipped with ANPR cameras and automated barriers. Regular contractors pass frictionlessly based on a whitelist; new vehicles are stopped for manual registration. Fully integrated with Alfapass, Portpass and NineID for pedestrian access. Complete audit trail per vehicle, timestamp and visited zone.
Central Control Room & PFSO dashboard
Custom-built control room (Barco videowall) with live ISPS zone overview, active vessels, alarms and occupancy per zone. The PFSO dashboard shows in real time who is present in the Restricted Area — including Alfapass, Portpass and NineID visitors — exportable in one click to the legally required presence register.
